CRM / TRM can be defined as a management system which makes optimum use of all available resources - equipment, procedures and people - to promote safety and enhance the efficiency of flight operations.
Crew Resource Management/ Team Resource Management (CRM / TRM) training involves an understanding in systems where human error can have devastating effects and where ensuring safety is the most important aspect. Used primarily for improving air safety, CRM focuses on interpersonal communication, leadership, and decision making in the cockpit.
The training originated from a NASA workshop in 1979, which found that the primary cause of most aviation accidents was human error. CRM has since been adapted to different industries and organization, including the Fire Service, Health Care, and Shipping.
Entry Point North offers Human Factors/CRM/TRM training for various phases within pilot, cabin crew and maintenance/technical or Air traffic control training programmes.
This course can also be tailor made for other areas outside the aviation business where there is need for a high level of safety in an operational environment.
Depending on the customer’s wishes, the courses can be offered as standard units based closely on JAR and EU requirements, respectively, following Eurocontrol guidelines, or as more extensive units expanded to incorporate the customer’s additional training needs.
The course uses various teaching methods such as videos, interactive participation, case study and discussions. The CRM / TRM Course can be conducted at Entry Point North or at the customer’s own premises depending upon the customer’s preference.
