Initial training for air navigation service employees – Basic ATS

The Air traffic services employ many competent and diverse personnel categories that serve the air traffic industry and the air traffic control. EPN provides premier training to provide a basic education for these groups. The course includes training in subject such at MET, international organizations, ANS organization, Flight plan, Rules of the air, ASM, ATFCM, Aircraft knowledge, equipment, navigation, human factors and much more.

The personnel categories best suited for the Basic ATS course includes:

AFTN operator
AIS officer
ATCO assistant ACC
ATCO assistant TWR
FIC officer without radar
FIS officer with radar
Flight data operator FDA/FDO
NOTAM office officer

The course is a basic short course intended to be followed by an optional rating module or further development training. For some categories OJT might be sufficient.

ATS Rating modules

Entry Point North provides rating modules for ATS personnel having completed the Basic ATS course. The four current rating modules available are:

AFIS (aerodrome flight information service) without radar.
AFIS (aerodrome flight information service) with radar.
