Human Factors Seminar:
“Just Culture” 27 August

Entry Point North is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Human Factors Seminar on Just Culture in the learning environment in Copenhagen. The key audience for this seminar is Training Managers within ANSPs and safety-critical organisations.

This one day seminar’s focus is developing a “Just Culture” in the learning environment and Professor Sidney Dekker from Lund University will be the key note speaker. Professor Dekker is a world-leading researcher and an authority in the field of Human Factors in safety-critical operations. Professor Dekker has published several award winning human factors books, and he is the author of “Just Culture: Balancing Safety and Accountability”.

“Just Culture” addresses how to create an atmosphere of trust where people are encouraged to provide any information related to safety or training results. It is also about defining the line separating acceptable and non-acceptable behaviour. This goes for all safety-critical organisations as well as for training organisations.

Just Culture is also about learning and organisational learning. Or as Peter M. Senge put it, ”Organisations learn only through individuals who learn. Individual learning does not guarantee organisational learning. But without it no organisational learning occurs”.
