During the Basic ATC Module the ab initio students receive the fundamental knowledge and skills to be able to progress onto their chosen specialised Air Traffic Control Rating training.

The Basic ATC Module delivers an essential foundation level of information necessary for the ATC profession, and Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs). This information is then expanded upon and developed further during rating training.

The subjects taught include: Aviation Law, Air Traffic Management, Aviation Equipment & Systems, Human Factors, Navigation, Meteorology and Aircraft Performance & Recognition.

Training incorporates the following methods of delivery: classroom theory, computer based training (CBT) and hands-on simulation training.
